  • Butterfly Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center is currently accepting resumes for the position of Family Advocate/Multi-disciplinary Team Coordinator for our office located in Wetumpka (Elmore County). Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or other human services related field. The individual for this job must understand and advocate the mission of Butterfly Bridge CAC, as well as become knowledgeable in the history and function of the center. Applicants must possess flexibility, be able to work both independently and as part of a team, have excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to communicate well with children, families, and other professionals. They must also be open to receiving regular training in the treatment of sexually abused/severely physically abused children and their families. We are looking for a collaborative, dedicated, compassionate and enthusiastic individual to become part of our team.

Internship Opportunities

Internship Opportunities: 

As a teaching facility, Butterfly Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center is committed to providing hands-on experience for undergrad and graduate students in the fields of social work, criminal justice, clinical therapy, child development or other human services fields. 

Family Advocate Internships
Family advocate interns have opportunities to work directly with client families throughout the investigative and court process, as well as to assist the professionals who investigate and manage cases of alleged abuse and neglect. Internship requirements:

• Participate in an orientation at beginning of internship
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Ability to pass an applicant interview process
• Participation in weekly supervision activities

Clinical Internships
The BBCAC clinical training program offers graduate students opportunities to receive practical experience in multiple therapeutic modalities including trauma-focused, play, individual, art, and group therapies. Interns accepted are:

  • Master’s level practicum and internship students 
  • Counseling, Social Work, and other related fields                                                                                              
  •  Participate in an orientation at beginning of internship
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to pass an applicant interview process
  • Participation in weekly supervision activities
