FORENSIC INTERVIEWER & MULTI-DISCIPLINARY TEAM COORDINATOR JOB LISTING

Each year, more than 300,000 children across the United States begin their path to healing through the compassionate care of Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs). Butterfly Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center is proud to be one of Alabama’s 36 CACs, working daily to bring hope, healing, and justice to children and adolescents who have experienced the unimaginable.

We are seeking a dedicated and mission-driven Forensic Interviewer and Multi-disciplinary Team Coordinator to join our team in this unique dual-role position. This individual will play a vital part in our mission to providing a safe, child-centered space where young survivors of abuse and neglect can begin their journey toward restoration.

As part of a compassionate and collaborative multi-disciplinary team, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adolescents impacted by abuse. The Forensic Interviewer and MDT Coordinator conducts trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate forensic interviews and helps facilitate a coordinated response among partner agencies involved in the investigation, treatment, and prosecution of child abuse cases. At Butterfly Bridge CAC, we are committed to ensuring that every child receives the care, support, and justice they deserve—and that no child faces abuse alone.

About Butterfly Bridge CAC

Butterfly Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center is a nationally accredited Children’s Advocacy Center through the National Children’s Alliance and state accredited through the Alabama Network of CACs, meeting the highest standards of care and best practices in the field of child abuse response. We proudly serve Alabama’s 19th Judicial Circuit—Autauga, Elmore, and Chilton counties—with offices located in Prattville, Clanton, and Wetumpka.

Our comprehensive, child-focused services include forensic interviews, family and victim advocacy, trauma-focused therapy, multidisciplinary team (MDT) coordination, prevention and outreach, and access to forensic medical evaluations. All services are provided at no cost to children and their families. Butterfly Bridge CAC is sustained by a diverse network of funding sources, including federal and state grants, private foundations, corporate sponsors, and generous community support.

More about the role

This dual-role position is essential to the mission of Butterfly Bridge CAC, combining trauma-informed forensic interviewing with leadership in coordinating the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) response to child abuse cases. The Forensic Interviewer and MDT Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring that children receive compassionate, comprehensive support throughout the investigation and beyond.

Key responsibilities include conducting neutral, developmentally appropriate forensic interviews with children during investigations; facilitating communication and collaboration among MDT members; scheduling and leading regular case review meetings; maintaining accurate, confidential documentation; and helping ensure cases progress efficiently and effectively through a child-centered lens. This position also supports the Center’s outreach, training, and community engagement efforts as needed.

On a Day-to-Day Basis, You Might...

• Conduct trauma-informed forensic interviews with children and adolescents involved in investigations of abuse, neglect, or exposure to violence.

• Coordinate with law enforcement, DHR, prosecutors, medical professionals, and other MDT members to ensure a collaborative, child-focused response.

• Schedule, organize, and facilitate MDT case review meetings to support timely, coordinated case progression.

• Organize and support training opportunities for MDT partners on topics related to child abuse, including trauma-informed practices, mandated reporting, and best practices in investigation and response.

• Complete detailed, confidential documentation necessary to role.

• Provide court testimony as needed in your role as a forensic interviewer.

• Participate in ongoing training, peer review, and continuing education to ensure best practices are maintained.

• Support Family Advocate as needed with front-end advocacy services.

• Support CAC leadership with administrative tasks.

• Support community education and awareness efforts as needed to advance the mission of Butterfly Bridge CAC.
